What is a document?

The document is a carrier of information around which knowledge is created, consolidated and communicated. Documents are by no means limited to printable text and/or images, they may contain video and/or sound and be intended for online audiences.

What does document management involve?

Document Management is the process of managing documents through their lifecycle. From inception through creation, review, storage and dissemination all the way to their destruction.

The motivation for implementing Document Management is usually provided by a combination of one or more of the following needs: accessibility, ease of maintenance, conservation of space, cost reduction, prevention of information loss, security.

Document Security

At Universal Print we take client confidentiality and the security of the documents we manage very seriously. We have a robust internal computer system to protect your files in the unlikely event of damage being caused due to drive failures, malicious damage or fires. These systems include the use of RAID arrays to cope with simultaneous drive failures as well as regular off-site backups of our file servers.

Online Ordering

We provide online ordering facilities to our regular customers so common documents, such as business cards, can be re-ordered quickly and easily. This system allows customers to place new jobs, update their contact details and view a history of previous jobs.

No special software is required to enjoy the benefits of this system, all you need is an Internet connection and a standard web browser.
